Intro to Plein Air Painting
Saturday April 29 thru May 20th
"En plein air," French for "to paint in the open air."
This class will introduce students to plein air painting basics, choosing a subject, quickly planning a composition, defining a focal point with contrast and color, and working with shifting conditions of nature. Each week classes will be held in a different location around The Valley. Class is hosted through Catalyst Art Collaborative
This weekly drop in class will help you work on translating what you see, to what you see on your canvas. Any medium welcome. $30

This 3 week course will get acrylic paints off to a great start with techniques and basic principles to help you create amazing acrylic paintings. $95, all supplies provided (what a steal!)

This 4 week course will introduce artists to the colorful and vibrant world of watercolor painting. Students will work on basic techniques like creating gradients, wet into wet, layering and a verity of texturing techniques. $125 per person and all supplies included (what a steal!)

This 3-week course picks up where our Intro to Watercolors course leaves off and is great for artists with some previous watercolor experience. Expanding students' foundational skills in working with watercolors, building on layering techniques, brush control, and understanding how to translate images to watercolor. $105 per person and all supplies included (what a steal!)

This once a week drop-in style class is great for beginning acrylic painters to expand their foundational skills while painting along with me. Each week we will focus on a different topic such as depicting the light and form of an object, practicing gradients and color blending, and layering simple shapes. $30 all supplies are included, so you just have to show up and paint!

This 4-week intermediate drawing course is great for giving you the tools and the skills to get you drawing portraits like a pro. You'll start with learning about the basic symmetry and proportions of the face as well as understanding it’s different smaller structures like the nose, eyes, and lips.

Watercolors and Wine? What could be better! This beginner level class will give you the basic techniques to get you started, from creating beautiful gradients to learning how to prep and stretch your own watercolor paper while you enjoy your favorite wine at Bodovino in Meridian.

Design and Composition

This class will focus on the principles of design and composition that apply to all forms of visual art, focusing primarily on 2-D work in any medium, style or genre. You'll learn each element and principle, including rule of thirds, tangents, flow, as well as color theory.
